I worked as Lead UX Designer in-house as a member of the BBC Bitesize team. To get up to speed on the product I worked closely with the product owner and business analyst who took me through competitor research and insights around the Bitesize market performance which highlighted several key areas where I could add value and improve the Bitesize offering.
Focusing on improving the ‘Signed-in and Personalisation’ experience I conducted an in depth user journey analysis of the existing site, using personas and data analysis to identify pain points and drop off points. I then worked at speed, designing and prototyping multiple solutions to improve and simplify user interaction. Throughout the process I presented my designs and rationale to key BBC stakeholders. I also worked closely with developers who built and then A-B tested the solutions.
Finally I helped plan and run usability sessions with a user focus group to gather insights around how our target users would like to engage with personalisation features to discover how these could then aid their learning.
